There is a lot a curiosity surrounding hidden spy cameras and how they work and what they can be used for. Until recently they were so expensive that only government agencies and law enforcement could use them. But that has changed and now you can get a hidden spy camera for less than $100.
To help clarify what they are and how they work. Let's take a look at three different kinds of hidden spy cameras.
The first is a regular hidden spy camera. It sends images to a monitor of some kind-a TV or computer monitor for viewing. It cannot record the images. To do that you need a DVR or VCR. They come disguised as everything from down view smoke detectors to boom boxes to alarm clocks. They come wired or wireless and color or black-and-white. There are some other options including high power, which enables the wireless cameras to transmit up to 2500 feet or nearly half a mile.
The next category is an all-inclusive hidden spy camera. We call it of all inclusive because it has a DVR a hidden inside the object along with the camera. The images are recorded on an 8 GB SD card, which inserts into your computer's SD card reader for easy playback. These cameras are disguised as air purifiers, desk lamps, wall clocks, and others. They are by far the easiest to use. They are a little bit more expensive but they are worth it.
The last category is the so-called "body worn" spy camera. These include a microphone to record audio a DVR to record video and the camera. These are all much smaller products and so have limited recording capability. But they do have their place especially for private investigators or any place that you need an audio recording. You can get several of these models for less than $100.00.
When you need to find out what's going on at your home office or business and can't really be there 24/7 you need to consider a hidden spy camera to see what's going on.
When are you getting one?
